Scuffs and marks usually fall under ‘wear and tear’. It was truly heartbreaking carrying out a check out recently. The tenants had looked after the property so well on a 5 year tenancy, they wanted to hide any scuffs and pin holes with a little bit of odd paint….. unfortunately the paint didn’t match so now there’s a possible repaint charge deduction from their deposit. Communicate with agents / landlords to get an idea of what’s acceptable and what’s not before you pick up a paintbrush.
